This page is maintained by the operators of Wait List Open to explain what personal information we collect and how we use it. It is provided for transparency and does not constitute legal advice or a formal certification.
What we collect
- Account details you provide: name, email, and (optionally) phone number.
- Booking details you enter when claiming an appointment: your name, contact info, and any note you leave for the business.
- Business profile details (for business users): business name, staff name, city, state, and contact info.
- Basic activity data needed to run the service (e.g. which slots you've claimed).
How we use it
- To let you browse and book open appointment slots.
- To share the contact details you enter at booking with the specific business you booked with — no one else.
- To send you notifications you've opted into (matching openings, booking confirmations).
- To keep the service secure (rate-limiting, abuse prevention).
Who can see your info
- Other users browsing openings see only the business, service, time, and location — never your name or contact details.
- The business you book with sees the contact info and note you entered for that booking.
- We do not sell or share your personal information with advertisers.
Data protection
- All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Access to your data is enforced at the database level using row-level security — only you and the business you booked with can read your booking's contact info.
- Passwords are hashed and checked against known-breach lists at sign-up and reset.
Your choices
- You can update or delete your account contact info from your profile.
- You can cancel any upcoming booking from "Your bookings".
- To delete your account entirely, contact support.
